It’s disheartening and equally hilarious when and how these things begin to unfold, how the state of things begin to change as we grow up.
Regardless of how much physical changes there’s so much more and most take us by surprise, we go from being driven to being the driver. From getting advised and instructed to finding our bearings on our own.
Everything changes within the twinkle of an eye, all we thought defined us becomes a thing of the past, we’re now forced to adapt to a new kind of life, even family ain’t what it used to be, Only a few friendships would make it this far.
It’s reality understandably so, but it really isn’t easy to adapt so quickly, especially at these early stages, every word, every action, every reaction, every gesture sends a message, nothing is ever going to be the same again, from looking up to others to being looked up to. Maybe we forgot for a second or perhaps weren’t informed but thus goes the circle of life.
There’s no two ways about it, but truth be told, it’s really challenging, maybe the ones before us should’ve taught and prepared us better, just maybe we’d be more mentally prepared. But what can we do? We’re here already and we have to find a way to make it work, to make our new phase of life a memorable one, to make something worthy out of all the struggles and maybe train the ones coming after us to be better prepared.
Because the two basic phases of a man’s life are totally distinct and one could get lost if we expect the second phase to be anything like the first, I’m sure a lot of us certainly did.
